Lessons go for duration of 30 minutes, higher-level classes run for 45 minutes to 1 hour.

Pre-school classes have a maximum of 4 per class.

School-aged children class sizes increase in proportion to skill level.

What happens when a lesson is missed due to illness? Do you do make-up classes?

No, we do not offer make up lessons.

For missed lessons we offer a guest pass, maximum of 2 per child, per term. These can be used for a family/group swim, or the parent/guardian may also use for single spa/sauna/steam visit, gym visit or group fitness class. Guest passes have a 3-month expiry from the date of the missed lesson.

To apply for a credit, a medical certificate must be provided, and we offer a maximum of 4 credit lessons per child, per term. For longer absences the Learn to Swim reception team can advise best options.

Can I drop my child off for their lessons and then leave the centre?

All children under the age of 10 must have a parent/guardian poolside for the duration of their swim lesson.

Can we play before or after the lesson?

Yes!  All participants and one adult are welcome to swim before and/or after your lesson ensuring you follow the centres' Watch Around Water policy

When is a student's progress assessed?

Our swim teachers continually assess students' progress throughout the term. A level progression card will be given to swimmers when they are ready to move to the next level.

How long will it take for my child to progress to the next level?

As all children learn at a different rate it is not uncommon for a swimmer to remain in the same class for several terms. It important to ensure all skills are performed competently before progression to the next level.
